ARDEX has launched a new addition to its well-established range of high-performance screed cements. Developed with the help of professional screeders, ARDEX A 29 Rapid Drying Cement for Internal and External Screeds has been designed to perform in real UK site conditions, and to provide a reliable, yet cost-effective, solution for contractors and their clients.
With traditional sand/cement screeds, drying times often extend beyond the recommended period, particularly in cooler conditions. This has the effect of delaying the installation of the floorcovering and potentially the entire project. Additionally, some economical mix ratios that incorporate more sand may result in low strength screeds that can ultimately lead to failures.
ARDEX A 29 however can be mixed to a true 1:7 ratio, and provides a screed base that’s both economical and strong. It can be tested with and pass a BRE Screed Test after just 24 hours, as opposed to the minimum two-week requirement for traditional sand/cement screeds. It can also be walked on in just eight hours and allows ceramic tiles to be installed in as little as 24 hours and all other flooring types, after just seven days.
When compared to traditional screeds that require seven days before trafficking and potentially months of drying before installing floorcoverings, ARDEX A 29 fast tracks the screeding process and significantly minimises project downtime.
Despite its quick drying capabilities, ARDEX A 29 is ideal for pumped applications with an extended working time of 90 minutes to allow contractors to lay in larger batches with confidence and also reduce wastage associate with screeds that have a shorter working time.
Overall, ARDEX A 29 offers unique application benefits to professional screeding contractors, combining excellent workability with outstanding speed and performance.
