Former Director General of the CBI and government minister Lord Digby Jones has been appointed as the Chairman of Lancashire-based raised access flooring specialists Metalfloor UK Limited.
Philip Preston, Managing Director at Metalfloor, said: “We are delighted and privileged to have secured the expertise of Lord Digby Jones to support the next phase of our company’s development and growth”.
Lord Jones brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge and is well known on the world stage for championing UK businesses both large and small.
Lord Jones said: “It is an absolute privilege to be appointed Chairman of Metalfloor. SMEs are the lifeblood and engine room of our country. Those in public life, and involved only in Big Business, can easily work in a bubble divorced from the real world and ignorant of the issues that challenge smaller businesses on a daily basis.

In addition to his new role at Metalfloor UK, Lord Jones is currently the Chairman of Triumph Motorcycles, Thatcher’s Cider, Argentex LLP, On-Logistics, ProBuild and Elonex. He is also a Corporate Ambassador for AON Risk Solutions.
