The Academy for Excellence in Flooring has partnered with installation products specialist, UZIN, to bring specialist advice to its training programmes.

 

The Academy for Excellence in Flooring is only too aware of the importance of a correctly prepared subfloor when it comes to a successful and lasting installation of Quick-Step engineered wood, laminate and luxury vinyl planks and tiles. So, it has partnered with leading installation products manufacturer, UZIN, to include subfloor preparation within its Master Installer programme. 

 

The initiative was begun by the academy’s technical manager, Lee Thompson. He said: “We’ve been training installers in the correct way to install engineered wood, laminate and vinyl floors for over a decade. We’ve always stressed the importance of subfloor preparation as critical to the installation’s long-term’s success. Site conditions encountered often mean the subfloor needs remedial attention before installation can start and so we wanted to make sure that Master installers had the right knowledge and experience to deliver the perfect surface.

Wood and Laminate and LVT Master Installer training programmes now include a half-day session on achieving the correct subfloor, including moisture levels, smoothing compounds and what constitutes a correctly prepared subfloor for Quick-Step floorcoverings. All Master Installers will receive certification of completion from UZIN, as well as the usual benefits that come with the Quick-Step accredited programme.
