Carpet tiles from modulyss have been chosen for the new South Central Institute of Technology at Milton Keynes College.
Motion and Vision carpet tiles from modulyss have been used to create a modern look throughout the ground floor of the Andrew Peck Building, a former campus library and now home to the South Central Institute of Technology. Chosen in the charcoal of 550 and 991 colourways, the coordinating carpet tile designs feature in the open-plan and classroom areas of this prestigious new space, a showcase for the college.
Covering in excess of 500m2 of floor, Motion /// Vision is a mix and match concept that creates a sense of movement through dynamic texture and shifting pattern. Using in-house solution dyed nylon for a stain-resistant and lightfast floor, the carpet tiles deliver a high-quality finish. The combination was presented to the client among several options by Advanced Commercial Interiors, the fit-out specialist responsible for the refurbishment.
Roy Thompson, Advanced Commercial Interiors, said: “We were trying to achieve a modern looking interior using high-quality finishes with a ‘wow’ factor. We discussed several style options that would work well within the open-plan and glass partitioned classroom layout, including contrasting colour fades, and presented several to the college. They quickly decided on the Motion /// Vision combination and are delighted with the end result.”
Motion is a graduated linear design in 12 colours, while the all-over texture of Vision comes in 13 colours. Using a palette from punk greens and acid yellows through to petrol blues and chromatics, Motion /// Vision provides a high-powered, flexible collection for today’s education spaces.
