IVC Commercial Floors Solve Problems at London Offices

A range of carpet tiles and luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) from IVC Commercial has been used to overcome challenges in the London offices of a leading defence contractor.

Featuring in main workspaces, conference rooms and the boardroom, IVC Commercial floors were specified by Ashlar Projects to uphold a look that blends a strong geometric influence with classic design for the London offices of a leading defence contractor. Choosing from the Rudiments and Art Style carpet tile collections, as well as the Studio Moods modular vinyl concept and Moduleo 55 Tiles LVT, Ashlar Projects has utilised the floors to solve a wide range of challenges.

Tim Pullen, managing director, Ashlar Projects, said: “For selected floorcoverings, we turned to IVC Commercial for an ability to deliver solutions that combat specific problems with the minimum amount of fuss. From creating a bespoke design with Studio Moods to rapid installation through Flex Pro and delivering great acoustics with EcoFlex Echo, we’re impressed with the broad range of clever problem solvers.”

Reflecting a central backlit ceiling feature in the main desking space, Studio Moods in a trapezoid pattern has been used to striking effect, with the bespoke floor featuring wood and stone looks in Country Oak, Blackjack Oak and Cloud Stone. In corridors, Cloud Stone is again used in Moduleo 55 Tiles for a modern stone-effect floor that’s durable and easy to maintain. The floors were installed on Flex Pro, a self-adhesive underlay that speeds installation, improves sound absorption, works over subfloor imperfections and creates a level transition to surrounding carpet tiles.

For the glazed partition conference rooms, IVC Commercial’s Shared Path and Disruptive Path carpet planks have been installed in a herringbone pattern to deliver high visual impact. In a palette of tonal grey with deep blue highlights that reflect the company’s brand palette, the carpet planks connect the conference rooms with the rest of the scheme.

Within the boardroom, special attention was placed on acoustics, with Ashlar Projects specifying IVC Commercial’s Balanced Hues in the optional Ecoflex Echo backing. A classic and smart tweed look that’s well suited to high-specification spaces, the carpet tile helps with privacy during sensitive discussions by absorbing up to 100% more sound. The extra underfoot comfort of the backing adds to the boardroom’s premium feel.
