When it came to the refurbishing of its own offices, progressive interior design practice, Officescape, turned to carpet tiles from modulyss.
Officescape has used two of the manufacturer’s carpet tile designs to create a layout that pops, but that also takes the brunt of life in breakout and desking areas, where spills from cups of creative fuel are commonplace. Linsey Hart, Design Director, Officescape, said: “We wanted to achieve a modern monochrome look as a base design and add a few interesting focal pointsâ€.
Turning to the tip-sheared looks of Txture for a strong charcoal base, Linsey added a flash of colour with the fluidity of Vision’s shifting pattern in eye-popping yellow, its pattern loop pile the perfect textural complement. Txture is crafted with ECONYL regenerated yarn, while Vision achieves comparable performance through a solution-dyed PA6 in-house yarn; ensuring both carpet tiles withstand wear and remain incredibly easy to clean.
Rather than opt for typical square tiles, Linsey created a modern, geometric look by cutting the tiles into end-to-end linked triangles in the bright yellow of Vision, a move driven by needing to deliver on value. “We had to meet the constraints of our budget, but wanted to incorporate a flooring feature that popped, so came up with this design as it allowed us to cut standard tiles on-site, without the need for a specialist service,†continued Linsey.
Looking for a carpet tile that was hardwearing enough to cope with the stresses of desking and breakout areas, Officescape turned to modulyss for its great choice of products and fast delivery. The end result speaks for itself and demonstrates just what can be achieved with ‘off the shelf’ carpet tiles and some creative thinking.
