Isafe 70 compact safety sheet vinyl flooring has been installed at Retford Town Hall, Nottinghamshire.
Retford Town Hall, Nottinghamshire, is an impressive Grade II Listed Building built in 1868 in the Italianate architectural style of the period. Still used by Bassetlaw District Council, the building is also a popular event space with a ballroom and market hall that can accommodate all types of events including weddings, conferences and social events.
As part of the building’s refurbishment to improve council amenities and maintain its status as a popular destination for the local community, flooring contractor Lincolnshire Carpet Warehouse was asked to supply and install a fit-for-purpose floor by the main contractor.
Given the mixed use nature of the hall, Lincolnshire Carpet Warehouse knew that a vinyl safety floor would provide a hardwearing, safe and easy to maintain surface in general use areas and so recommended IVC Commercial’s Isafe 70 collection.

Not only must the floor be exceptionally hardwearing and easy to maintain for cleaning staff, but it also needs to ensure mobility for all abilities and ages, must be safe underfoot to reduce the risk of slips and should fit with the interior design of the building. Bassetlaw District Council opted for Light Green 523 to match décor in the building with Lincolnshire Carpet Warehouse installing a total of 120m2 of the floor in general areas.
